Alaska State Parks

This is the second in a monthly series about State Parks with full hookups for campers.  But alas, none of Alaska's State Parks have full hookups.  But they have so much to offer that I could not omit them from the series.

Alaska has four State Parks:

1. Chugach State Park- located in Anchorage, covering 495.000 acres. There are two campgrounds in this park.  Eagle River with 57 RV sites nd Blue Creek with 24 RV sites.  Blue Creek does have a 35' RV length limit.

2.  Denali State Park - located in Trapper Creek, covering 325,000 acres. Not to be confused with Denali National Park.  There are 32 RV sites at this state park.

3. Kachemak Bay State Park - located in Homer, covering 400,000 acres.

4. Wook-Tikchik State Park - located in Dillingham, is the largest State Park in the United States.  It covers 1.6 million acres.

Alaska Fun Facts:

  • 4 State Parks
  • 2 National Parks
  • 2 National Forests
  • 22 National Wildlife Refuges
  • 7 National Preserves
